On Sunday, August 25 we announced that Tim and Leslie Boettcher will be stepping down from their staff roles of working with children, youth and families at the end of the year. They wanted to share a heartfelt letter to Missio as they enter into a new season of their lives:
Dear Missio Family,
As we are entering a new season in our lives, we have felt God leading us to step down from our staff role of working with kids, youth and families. It has been a tremendous honor to have been given this opportunity and we have deeply appreciated the others on staff that we have been working with. It has also been a great reward to serve and interact with so many of you, the tremendous folks that make up our community.
Several factors have led to our decision. First, we have completed our two-year commitment in this role. A second reason has come from some troubling and continuing health issues which Leslie has faced through the last year. Third, is our sense that we need to be freer to spend time with our children and grandchildren. And a final factor is our desire to have more time to dedicate to the work of Sowing Hope in Burundi.
While we will be leaving staff, we joyfully intend to continue on as members of Missio Community. We are greatly blessed to be part of the Missio family!
With much love,
Tim & Leslie Boettcher
