Leslie and Tim Boettcher have been a part of the Missio family since 2021. As we have gotten to know them we have heard of the work that God birthed through Leslie in Burundi, Africa (the 4th poorest country in the world).
In 2018 Leslie went to Bujumbura, the capital city, to give spiritual support to a group of women. What she got, however, was a shock that tore at her heart. As she gave out to those women, God was giving something back: a burden for Burundians, particularly women, who live in very precarious financial situations. Sowing Hope lies at the intersection of economic need and a response of love. Helping people in Burundi find a way to economic freedom and financial and spiritual hope is one of its largest goals. Compassion, drawn from an understanding of God’s love for humanity, drives this work and guides the direction. While Sowing Hope wants to provide funds for creating family income, its goal is not to be self-perpetuating, but to simply create a space for hope. Missio is partnering with the Boettchers and the ministry of Sowing Hope. We invite you to learn more and consider supporting this ministry.
