Lent begins on March 2nd. Lent, in the church, is a period of preparation for Easter. It begins on Ash Wednesday, six and a half weeks before Easter, and provides for a 40-day fast (Sundays are excluded), in imitation of Jesus Christ’s fasting in the wilderness before he began his public ministry.
There are lots of ways to engage this season including certain types of fasts and devotional journeys. We highly recommend engaging this season in a way that is meaningful for you personally and helps you prepare your heart for the celebration of Holy Week in April.
