Missio Moms Prayer
Sundays 8-9 pm on Zoom ID: 847 9531 5138
Sept. 19 - Nov. 21 ( No Mtg. on Oct. 31)
God has gifted us with the unique role of being mothers. Yet as valuable as Godly motherhood can be, it is not the ultimate purpose of our lives. It is a fruit of our primary purpose: to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind," the first and greatest commandment (Matt. 22:37)
The reality is that motherhood involves a whole lot of caretaking, scheduling, busyness, hurriedness, late nights, and painfully early mornings. But if we aren't connected to God's Word and Holy Spirit, how do we fuel up to keep going without burning out? We mediate conflict without knowing God's wisdom, we carry our children's burdens without allowing the Lord to bear the weight, and we quell our fears and anxieties by Googling more or buying more or controlling more instead of pleading for God's peace and help. Maybe we can muster enough strength each day to "do it all" but eventually our flesh and hearts will fail.
Let's help each other, Mamas. we are going to gather in prayer not only for our children, partners, family, friends, colleagues, teachers, neighbors, and the world... we are going to pray for our own growth in loving the Lord with all of ourselves. Let's care for our own relationship with Jesus as much as we care for others.
If you're hesitant about group prayer, just join the gathering to soak in God's presence with other sisters. The power in prayer is not in our words but in God!
