At Missio we want to continue to grow in our understanding and experience of salvation as “wholeness” not just for ourselves, but for others as well. And not just in our own community and city, but in communities and cities around the world. One of the ways we have sought to share hope and wholeness with others in Portland is by fighting food insecurity in partnership with Neighborhood House and the SW Hope Campaign. Our annual SW Hope 5k has been called “a local solution to a global problem”, and now we want to expand our ministry and impact to fight against food insecurity on a greater scale. 
 
By hosting a Kids Around the World OneMeal meal packing event we will hand package nutritious meals that will be hand-delivered to malnourished children, providing what they need for physical and mental development, thus beginning to break the cycle of poverty.  Through packing meals together Missio will be partnering with Kids Around the World to deliver HOPE in the form of nutritious food that meets kids’ physical needs and opens the door for them to experience greater wholeness in Jesus too. Through our OneMeal meal packing event, we will "Serve Locally. Impact Globally.” This is a great opportunity for the Missio Community to come together to serve in a fun and meaningful way, and to invite our friends and neighbors to serve with us as well.
